This remake of the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead is a good film, and is essentially the same plot,
but I give it a lower rating on principle. The way I see it, if the original is good enough to
do a remake, then just watch the original. Remakes lose points on lack of originality.
For those that haven't seen the original, radiation has caused zombies to rise from their graves all over the countryside, and a band of strangers gets trapped in a farmhouse, fighting off zombies and arguing about the best way to stay alive. The script keeps you engrossed as the tensions both inside and outside the farmhouse rise.
This movie does make some changes to the plot that are more in tune with the current attitudes
towards movie heroes and heroines, and it does have a slightly different twist at the end, so
there is some originality. If you watch the film, you will probably enjoy it.
